Spring Classes

Spring classes start April 10th, for a 10-week semester.

Registration opens on Feb 26!

Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes.  Make-ups are available if you miss a class.  We offer mixed-age family classes for newborns to age 5 with a parent or caregiver.  We offer Music Together®'s unique Generations class.  Generations takes our traditional mixed-age family class for kids birth-5 and integrates enriching experiences with "Grandfriends" from the Senior Center on County Home Rd.  For the first time, we will offer a BABIES ONLY class for children 0-8mo. The music activities in a Babies class are specifically designed to teach paretns how to support music development in infancy and how to connect with their infants through music, using concepts like "purposeful touch," "sound layering," and "dancing for baby."  We welcome moms, dads, grandparents, nannies, or any combination of caregivers along with an enrolled child.

Tuition includes: Professional recordings (different songs each semester!), exclusive access to Family Music Zone with digital downloads and family resources, a beautifully illustrated songbook with play ideas for all ages, and a parent education event to learn more about early childhood music development.  New families also receive a family guide to help you understand and enhance your child's music development.  For more information, click here to visit our pricing page.

Mixed-Age Family Class

Our mixed-age classes create a family feel, and give children a chance to learn from – and teach – each other. Mixed age classes give every child a chance to participate at exactly the level that’s comfortable for them. And families love our mixed-age classes because siblings can play together in the same class. The Music Together® curriculum is designed to meet the needs of a broad range of ages and abilities.

Six to twelve children, their parents or caregivers, and class teacher gather in an informal circle to sing, play, enjoy movement games, and explore instruments together. The relaxed atmosphere helps everyone learn - children learn basic music skills, and grownups learn ways to share music fun with their children at home as well as in class.  Children are free to participate, watch, or leave the circle and move around the room. We know that children who appear not to be paying attention are really learning in their own way, and will often repeat class activities perfectly once they're at home.  Every class features a mix of songs, chants, rhythm and tonal play, movement games, and music exploration with simple musical instruments. Some activities are guided, and some feature free improvisation and exploration. Classes flow from quiet activities to all-out "shake-your-body" fun, and always end with a quiet lullaby and ritual goodbye song.

Guitar for Grownups

Imagine the joy of playing music for your child while they dance, sing, and laugh. Our Guitar Class for Grownups was designed for parents and caregivers of children currently enrolled in Music Together. In this 60-minute class, you'll learn to play selected songs from the current song collection so you can make even MORE beautiful music at home. This class accommodates both beginners who have never held a guitar and those who already have some skill. You'll be playing Music Together songs in no time!

Can't get to your child's Music Together class? This guitar class for adults gives you an new way to make music with your child at home. Build your skills in an organic, relaxed way and enjoy a night out with other parents of small children. Participants receive a workbook and bring their own guitar, capo, and tuner. If you want to learn to play the Music Together songs your child loves, this is the class for you.

Generations- Family

People of all ages come together to sing, dance, shake shakers, and swing scarves during weekly Music Together intergenerational classes. As the children’s music-learning is nurtured, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their grownups also foster new and important relationships with "Musical Grandfriends." These unique and powerful classes are also greatly enjoyed by our elder friends. Seniors can enjoy the children's lively energy, the chance to share memories, and the sheer fun of these playful music-making experiences. The additional cognitive, physical, and emotional benefits for both children and elders make the Generations class a win-win for all participants.

Babies Only (0-8mo) Family Class

A born sounder and mover, your baby is already equipped with the means and potential to make music. You've probably noticed how they respond when you play a song in the car or sing them a song to soothe them. Developing your baby's natural musicality will open the door to a world of possibility, not only for music learning but for all learning. The early months are so important to this process, which is why we designed this special class to help you every step of the way.

Music Together offers a one-semester Babies Class for families with infants from birth through eight months of age. In this class, the activities are specifically designed to teach you how to support music development in infancy and how to connect with your baby through music using methods such as "purposeful touch," "sound-layering," "dancing for baby," etc. And since our Babies Class uses the same song collections as our other classes, you will experience a seamless transition as your baby grows into our mixed-age and Rhythm Kids classes.

Summer Semester

The summer semester is like the regular 10 week semesters, but 6 weeks.  The collection is a best of compliation selected from the 9 collections.  This is a great way to beat the heat and add a little extra fun to your summer.  It is also a perfect time to try out Music Together!
